Hi all- I have a 70 gallon with 2 oscars: a tiger which i got recently that is about 5.5 inches and a red which i have had for awhile that is about 7 inches. Anyways the luttle tiger is a voracious eater i mean he stuffs himself till the food is coming out his gills :D Its the red that kinda worries me he barely eats at all maybe like a pellet or 2 every 2 or 3 days and sometimes i use silversides he may eat one or 2 but after that he is done. This is strange to me since i know that before he used to eat like a !@!#@#!#$! I was just wondering if there is something wrong with him/her? The tank conditions are steady and i do 20% changes every 2 weeks. THx FOR ANYONES TIME AND INPUT :D :D

I had Oscars in the past. Incredible fish, but a bit messy, and they need space...lots of it. I'm not sure the 70G is big enough.
In my opinion, you need weekly water changes of around 30%.
Vacuuming the bottom of the tank is important.
I love the Oscars (too)... :)
What filtration do you have?
Hope more replies are posted for a better idea of what's going on..

Thx for the reply. Yeah i think that one is best for a 70 but im too attach to them to let one go. maybe ill get a bigger tank for them later. I have a wet/dry filter it actually keeps the water quite clear but i have to change the water alot anyway cause they make a lotta waste and it makes the water kinda smelly if u know wat i mean ;)

This usually isn't an oscar problem, but he may be intimidated by the other one.
