I was just wondering. Since Im keeping fish as a hobby. I was wondering what is the most expensive fish I can keep in a 10 gal tank? Oh and that is breedable too....

nothing

Zebra pleco- L-046. Could have 3 in there- 2 fm and a male.

btw- there are basically two things that determine the price of almost any fish- availability in the wild and difficulty in spawning in captivity.

its breedable but not easily
250x3=$750 bux
id like to see this tank when its done lol....i seriously doubt it will happen
if you going to spend 750 bux on 3 fish why keep it in a 10 gallon? cant you splurge for a bigger tank?

lol @ flag

forgot to add that for 3 zebra pl*co's you need about 40 gallons. 20 gallon for one

does it have to be freshwater? what about saltwater?? but still dude 10 gallons is kinda limiting. cant you broaden your horizens?

and why does it have to be the most expensive? are you looking to sell the offspring? most fish will breed in a small tank but it cant be their permanent home

How unhelpful. Pay no attention to the :troll: behind the curtain.

There's a large number of fish that will breed in a 10. I think Tanganyika shell dwellers would breed in a tank that size, fancy guppies, a breeding pair of bettas maybe (I'm no betta pro, but 10 should be OK for breeding no?).

I don't breed fish (intentionally), but there is surely a fish species for what you are looking to accomplish.

im sorry but didnt the poster say most expensive?
how are guppies and shell dwellers the most expensive?
the second poster to mine had it correct with zebra pl*co being a very expensive fish
perhaps you arent reading correctly

No I read the thread, and I comprehend the question. You didn't comprehend the question...

...and since you keep giving poor, ill considered advice, my patience for you is gone. I know you've been here awhile, so I can't understand with all of the information on AC at your disposal why you continue to be so obtuse and contrarian to what most people here consider general and proven knowledge. Maybe you just like arguing for the sake of it.

I do know that your off the cuff "nothing" answer is absolute BS, so as a dedicated enemy of misinformation I needed to (yet again) correct the BS you are putting out there.

They want to know what the most expensive fish they can breed in a ten gallon aquarium is. They have quite a few options, but I don't breed fish so I am unsure of the correct answer.

They did not ask if the most expensive fish available can fit in a ten gallon and breed.

Literacy, it's not just for dinner!
