My orange platy (livebearer) recently developed a bump on the top part between his body and his tail. The bump looks just like a black peppercorn (before it is grind up into pepper that we eat) and is just about the same size/color. The scale on top of his head looks a bit flaky, wrinkled, and transparent. The dorsal fin has thin, white streaks.
His swimming looks fine although he used to stay at the bottom of the tank all the way in the far corner before we added the other fish (about 10 - 2 male platies, 1 female platy, and 7 danios). Now he has friends, he swims around a little bit more.
Another of my platy also has fin rot on his dorsal fin and tends to stay at the bottom of the tank or hide in the corner.
About 4 weeks ago, 3 of my zebra danios died, all immediately after we change the water and we had to replace it.
Temp 76-78 F, ammonia level 0, nitrite 0, carbonate hardness (KH) 35.8 ppm, general hardness (GH) 125.3 ppm, pH 6.8-7.0
What should I do to cure their lump and fin rot? Any medicines or techniques? :-(
