who is your favorite poster?!

So who is your favorite poster and why is he/she your favorite poster on AC? Im just curious if its only a select few or a big variety.

For me its probably graphicdesign_r, hes very knowledgable, has funny comments and and is great with words.

Roan, Joepyhs, Dangerdoll, to name a few.

They all seem to be good aquarists that are willing to share their experience and opinions. I've learned quite a bit from reading their posts and I'm never dissapointed to see their names come up in a thread.

One more thing.....Dangerdoll always has the nicest avatar.

Daveedka tops the list. Always helpful and informative in his posts. Rarely do I skip over anything he says, even when irrelevant to me, it still makes me learn something new everytime.

Out and out Favorite would probably Be Dangerdoll. Always fun and friendly.

I'm not much for popularity contests, and we have some very fine people who frequent here and help everyone out. I could name fifty people that I would never want to lose around here. In so many cases the subject matter dictates who I rely on for answers. It's a great community because of a lot of great people.

I am my own favorite poster;) I do have people whose posts I enjoy...but I won't be specific because I don't want anyone to feel left out. Plus there are just so many and different personalities fit different moods.

I don't think I have a favorite. There are so many, and I know I am leaving a bunch out, but when Roan, RTR, rrkss, daveedka or djlen give advice, I listen. They know a lot more and have a lot more expierence than I.

Classics are GEL and Lila, off from them though is a bunch... nursie, my comrad (sp?), Daveedka, very knowledgable to say the least, Roan Art, the same, Deb Mark, favorite for frisky fun, Yofishboy, cuz he's a babe, same with sumthin fishy, Slappy of course, couldn't leave that hottie out, blue, a great chat pal, OG & Mogurnda, my saltie guru's, dougall - love his avatar, his chat conduct is A+, Ems, fun gal, wouldnt be the same without her, Leo, for the greatest avatars and extremely fair advice and her love of all animals is astounding and right up on my level, Joe, things wouldn't be the same without his weird news, Rosita, love the horse updates and her passion for them is untouchable... Aknif, how could I leave that babe out! She's a mirror of my own thoughts, a classic for sure!! And Mermaiden, a girl after my own heart ;) The newest member, I'd say is JodiMartin, she's just adorable and fun at the same time. Galaxie is great for his opinions, and cheech, for that rawness he delivers.

There are several on this forum whose posts I try not to miss: RTR, ROAN, DAVEEDKA, RIEVERIX, rrkss, djlen, plantbrain, OG and Carpguy. An amazing amount of information is dissiminated by these folks and thankfully they stick around in spite of the nonsense that's flooded this site lately.

There are quite a few great posters. Graphic is my fav of all b/c he is so darn funny! He could talk anyone under the table. I will say this: people who can answer my questions, bring humor to this site, or just have something interesting to say, those are the people on my favorites list. And you know who you are. :D

Also, I love the moderators, who move posts, lock threads, kill trolls, and do all the moddy stuff they do while still managing to find the time to answer questions and regularly contribute to this forum. Thank you.

I'm a student again, so I have less time to be online cruising the forums. I stop into chat to spice things up from time to time, but that's about all I can squeeze in! I'll be back in full force later in the fall when I'm done with school....

OK.. I'm also not going to name names.. mostly because instinct tells me that the favorite poster should be due to some kind of technical reason or incredulous level of knowledge.. and the truth is I'm here for mostly social reasons..

if I wanted to do a little research about fish, or plants or something, It's a lot easier to go to the library or spend 5 minutes with Google than it is to come here. AC, to me is all about the community, and the folks who share a common interest. Just like I don't go to a bar to talk about the relative merits of the array of beer they serve.

As such, this space will be dedicated to the fine folks of the chat room, they all know who they are, and they probably have the bell at the ready..

After a rough Monday at the imitation-education center, I've piddled around all evening, just putting off one of my greatest pleasures of the day--visiting AC. Well, okay, I was on earlier today--I can't stay away. And why is this?

Not only do I have a passion for horses (thanks, DD, and I'll have new pix to post of "Delight's Blue Bob" (named for his daddy, Delight the Blue, and my dad, with whom I've developed an incredibly wonderful relationship after many years of ultimate storms), but with most all living creatures.(ok, why purpose do hornets serve?) Gosh, I'm actually tearing down my cheeks, must be that time (lol). Little did I know, four years ago, when I started with a betta (in a 2g container, ty), that the piscine world would fire another passion. (I saw someone use that little word in a post, loved it.) And when I decided to get my first tank after. . . . um, 1969, take from 2006--aw, heck, I can't do math!!) and began to explore the internet for information (datadog, here, bigtime) lo and behold, out of the multitude of aquarial sites, I landed in AC, and found home.

As with many other of you wonderful folks, I cannot say I have one favorite poster; being an extremely diverse and eclectic Air Force Brat and Artist, my heart, big as the moon, has embraced just about everyone (these hateful, horrible evil :troll: 's are as bad as the kids at school, and I thank somethinfishy so very much [huge long hug] for reminding me of who I really am). Ya'll have such great senses of humor of all kinds, I always come across a much-needed giggle, or even pee-in-my-pants hearty laugh in here.

Mondo bizarro in the GCC sometimes, ranting steam, sharing all kinds of parts of ourselves--Who'da thunk one could find/make such wonderful friendships in such a way, come to appreciate such different and valid points of view on fish-keeping, and folks who have the patience to walk us newbies through all sorts of questions that have been already asked in one form or another in one forum or another (what?) so we can be conscientious, successful keepers, too. Yes, I can be long-winded (understatement), guess it comes from ALL the years in higher academe, or I'm just garrulous as h*** like Bob (human LOL), but no, I'm not co-dependent on people here, it's not some kind of internet sickness or addiction--I'm just at a place in my life where I live only with my critterkids out in the country, and my other group of important peeps are in my Saddleclub.

Names are flying through my head--well, avatars first, I'm so visual--and words shared in the Chat Room (thank you all for accepting me and my quirkiness!! I'm really shunned at work, you wouldn't believe, yet here I'm accepted for the etherbeing I am. Man, I love the smilie wars (thanks for starting one again, and shifting the energy here--it was getting bad on all of us!!) There really are too many posters here to have a favorite. It depends why I am here and the current situation. If I am looking for advice for my fish, there are certain people that I hope will respond, as well as people for other things.(plant info, GCC, etc...)

All in all this is a great site, and even though I have never met any of you, it is like having an endless amount of friends.

I really haven't been here long, and I haven't been in the aquaria hobby very long either. I enjoy reading posts by the truly knowledgeable fisherati here, people like Roan, Mighty Queen, Daveedka, Dangerdoll, the list goes on and on...

I also enjoy the comic stylings of Patoloco and 125Gjoe... I think one of the things that makes AC so enjoyable is the different personalities people express while sharing their experiences.

I really appreciate anyone who can communicate well and hold up their end of a conversation. That's the line that separates the people who truly contribute (IMHO) from those who post just to hear themselves talk. I'm not talking about grammar or correct english, I'm talking about writing with good intent, personality and style. It shows respect for the forum community.
