ricca in minnesota?

today i went fishing at this one lake in minnesota and as i got started i saw a wierd plant floating in the water. i picked up the plant and to my amazment it was ricca. so i brought at least 1/4 lb home and droped it in my planted aquarium. i'm just wondering can this plant really be ricca because it looked exactly like it and if so how could it survive in harsh conditions?

If it's riccia, someone may have dropped into the lake, but 1/4lb. of it is a lot of riccia.
Can you post a picture of it?
