Ok on Saturday I got two pond snails for my tank. I put them in a small container for the night because I didn't get home til late. Well I've only had them for two days and I now have five babies. My question is, is how I ended up with five babies? Don't they lay eggs? I didn't see any eggs in the bag that they were put in. When I saw the first two I figured that they might have hitchhiked on the bigger snails. But then the next day I found three more. Where did they come from? They are still in my small container for now. I plan on putting them in my 80 gallon container pond soon but do you think they would get out of the pond? If they will do that what can I do to keep them in the pond?

hello... yeah im pretty sure they wouldnt leave the pond, not if they are water snails.. but about the same thing happened to my sister in law.. she has a large apple snail and she has it in a 55 gallon tank and she has had it for a while now, and just about 2 weeks ago she found a baby in there when she was sitting there just looking at the tank and a couple days before she got some angels but she said she knew it was not in the bag.. but her catfish got a hold of the baby snail and ate it.. she didnt see any other babies in there either... weird..

The reason I asked if the snails would leave the pond is because I had a snail in my 10 gallon tank. Well this was before I had a lid for my tank. Yes I know I should have had a lid on it but oh well lol. Well pne day I couldn't find my snail. I thought one of the fish ate it. But it turned out that the stupid thing got out of the tank and was on the floor. Sorry to say it was dead when i found it. Poor thing dried out.
