Went to Petco for some more lava rock and ended up getting more Kenyiis...Found an albino male so had to get his 3 females....Also I moved the cories Krib, so no worries now
Could be... they do exist just are not that common. Usually its albino socolofi or possibly even albino zebras.
I think the best way to tell if they are actually albino kenyi's is to look at the barring... if they have that classic kenyi barring then they might be part kenyi. The trouble with albino africans is that if they are albino then its very likely they were hybridized at one point in thier line.
Well, you know how kenyi's barring differs from other mbuna, right? The bars are "V" shaped. If it is an albino kenyi, the bars should also be very V-shaped.
I think so, his stripes are hard to see but they do look like it...he's also got that shiney spot at the top of his gills like the others...exactly same fin shape as well
Well, a kenyi's body/fin shape is usually very similar to other Maylandia species, so IDing one based on that often doesn't really work. I think the barring is the most classic characteristic a kenyi has.
