It should with water changes as it matures.
:OT: New, you seem like you might end up being a regular around here. (170 some posts and your just cycling your first tank.) What are you going to do in a few months when your name doesn't fit your experience?

Yeah, the clouds will go away eventually.
Not a bad picture for a first time, better than mine, at least.
joephys: Yeah, I love when people do that. Good Example: puffernewbie is one of the most knowledgeable puffer people on this site, after RTR and revereix of course. (although I haven't seen him on for a while.)

I think most people are idea thiefs. No one can experience everything.

Those clouds will pass, then you'll stock and have clear water, and then you'll get clouds like mine... day 18, and still pushing through... :p:

From what I've read, and I'm no genius, water changes do not hurt your cycle. The heterotrophic bacteria that bloom in the water column are not the kind you are after. Ammonia and nitrite eating bacteria are being cultured in the filter and in the substrate, so changing the water does not harm or get rid of them (treated water, of course). That said, regular water changes keep your water chemistry level, freshen up the oxygen, and add trace elements that any plants might need. My fish go nuts when they get a water change, dancing all over the place and putting on brighter colors, and I'm cycling right now. I've reached the point where I'll change their water just to make them happy when they're a little more listless than usual.
The "stagnant" cycling philosophy seems to be a myth, though if I'm misinformed, I'd sure like to find out. I suppose you are taking nutrients out of the water, but I think the benefits and nature of the culture you're growing outweigh that.

Water changes usually aren't necessary during fishless cycle unless you have a low KH (cycling can bring your KH down and if that's too low you end up with a pH crash...not good for bacteria).
Even if you have a high KH and PWCs aren't necessary during the cycle, it certainly won't hurt anything....should help with the cloudiness.
P.S. I'm talking about a fishless cycle, I don't have experience with plant cycling.

I remeber, a long time ago, a man in Ebay that was selling an old coffe pot. He polished it, took a picture of it, and uploaded it to the site. However, he wasn't aware his reflection appeared on the picture and he was naked. You could see him standing in his birthday suit holding the camera.
