Hardy bottom dwellers to go in aggressive tank?

Hello all, I'm looking for a hardy, bottom dwelling fish that can hold it's own in an aggressive tank of big cichlids. I'd like something that doesn't hide all **** day and gets out and mingles with the rest of the tank. Anyone have the perfect choice for me?

Unfortunatly synos are not suited to the SA tanks he has. Have you thought of some smaller pleco species? Getting them at adult sizes so they wont be bothered? www.planetcatfish.com might have some better answers for you.

I know a few but I've never kept them because I haven't gotten into big fish. You could do some research and decide if you want to try them: lima shovelnose, lined pimelodus, bichirs, and ropefish.

Well, they don't neccesarily have to be catfish, but they do need to be able to grow to a fairly large size, (9 - 11 inches) and be scavengers. My cichlids are VERY messy eaters and they don't do bottoms!!
