Thanks to Kevin for the write up in THF for the event.
He gave a good account of what the event entails.

For those willing to take a few days out and not leave the USA, but still want the experience, the Plant Fest 2K6 is going to be this June 10-17th , with the 11th-13th being the FW portion. 15-17th the Marine portion.

Stop looking at the glass box, become one with the plants, it'll provide you with a dramatic change of attitude. Cost is cheap, motel cost are cheap, food is cheap, the activities are cheap and even folks that are not really interested in plants enjoy themselves great deal and have more driftwood than they know what to do with.

Wanna see mermaid weed in it's natural state?
We got plenty for you.

I'll post more details on the barr report web site's free public section.

Regards,
Tom Barr

Gainesville, Florida. 10-17th June 2006.
Key Largo for the Marine portion, 15-17th.

Most fly in/out of Tampa.
Several wholesalers are near Tampa also.
Miami for the Marine event. Smart folks do both events:)

The FW part is 10-13th or 11-13 if you do not want to come to Tampa Aqaurium society meeting on aquatic plants. They have a very nice public aquarium, a must see.

Tom Barr

If anyone is looking for the unusual/elusive plant , PM me and I will have a look see.

Yep, it starts in june, with Florida figured to be the prime recipient.

I now how to evacuate and to where, ***lord Palms and Royal Pacific. If you have to have to hunker down, best to do so in comfort. Besides, they both have guaranteed power and allow pets. Although 2 yrs ago I didn't have to worry about a 180g tank.....

I use to do it in July, but got nailed.
They use to say Aug for the Hurricane season, now it's been pushed back.
The marine fest is the most endangered of getting nailed since it's lower, down in the Keys.

Tom Barr

No offense, I'd love to go to FL for this, but not during hurricane season. We prefer to stay local in the summer since we have so many animals and tanks and stuffs. Northern VA is due to get hit hard either this year or next. Isabella wasn't much fun.

We rent an oceanfront house every year (except this year, too busy) and we even do that in May so we can be home just in case.

Color us wussies :)
