I really don't want to be tracked...

"IBM inventors detail how the government could use RFID tags to track people in public places like shopping malls, museums, libraries, sports arenas, elevators, and even restrooms.

"Make no mistake," McIntyre adds. "Today's RFID inventory tags could evolve into embedded homing beacons. Unchecked, this technology could become a Big Brother bonanza and a civil liberties nightmare."

No pants in Florida, no jeans in Florida.

Shorts don't have lo-jacks, do they?

And we saw this coming years ago! People didn't believe our government/companies would go this far.

Yeah, the pros they try to use is that if your child is kidnapped or lost, they could track them down. But they can track everyone down no matter what the circumstances are, good or bad.

It's getting scarier by the day.

Great point. But isn't it always like that ? How people act all surprised to see "how far" the government would go ? (i don't mention companies because they NEVER limit themselves in how far to go)

In a not so distant future every baby born will have a chip implanted to track its every move. Of course it's all gonna be done "for the good" (collecting realtime medical data, personal safety, to lower crime whatever).

Of course there are still a vast majority of people now screaming... THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

THEY are probably right. It's all in my head... i am sure i am just paranoid. ;)

I bet it's already happening. How easy would it be to implant a tracking device in simple things that we use every day? Already they can track us by our phones...

It's becoming crazy.

Stories like this wanna make me move to the Bahamas, away from everyone, and sell bracelets on the beach for a living. . . :) At least that way I'll have some privacy!!!

Since there are no laws that I know of, protecting our privacy, I'm sure this technology is rushing foward at a fast pace.

The 'Verisign' (sp?) company has received government approval to implant their "rice grain" sized chip in people. It seems this subject is really moving forward, and its hardly ever mentioned.
