hi,

has anyone had much experience with these guys. i've searched on the web and read that they WILL eat frozen shrimp and blood worms, but mine doesn't seem to be eating anything, he swims around, and doesn't hide all that much, but when i thrown a frozen chunk in, he smells but doesn't seem to be interested.

anyone have one starve to death? seems like a great fish otherwise.

I have a tire trak eel and i had the same problem,
I was scared it would die.
put small fish in like guppys or rosy feeders.It will most sertanly eat
the Guppys.and mine did not eat for about a week or more.

It might be the way you're offering up supper. A frozen chunk isn't very appetizing. I feed my black ghost kinfe frozen bloodworms thusly:
put frozen block in small bowl;
put some tank water in turkey baster, put in bowl with chunk;
add a bit more water if needed;
swirl around 'til thawed;
rinse out water if it looks funky;
use turky baster to suction up some, place in area where he'll get it.
Works every time. You'll probably come up with your own variation, but imagine if a frozen dinner was put in front of you---not too good, eh?
Just my 2 taters worth.

Yeah, you need to thaw it out before putting it in the tank.

At least you see your. Mine hides nearly all the time. Every now and then he'll poke his head of the the rocks, but otherwise you would'nt know he's there. They will also eat algae tabs and food left on the bottom.

I put live tubaflex worms in a glass and sink the glass to the bottom of the tank and they just eat it out of the glass.
