My Firebelly newt lives in a 10 Gallon tank and was introduced last week. He has 4" of water and 8" of land.
Yesterday, I saw him coughing and trying to spit something out. I looked closely and saw that his throat was extremely bloated. I was scared that he could have swallowed one of the styrofoam bits (there are about 10 in the tank, and extremely hard to get rid of). I took him out and gave him a little push on the throat to see if this was the case. Nothing came out. Today it seems a bit worse and his body's a little bloated as well. What could this be?
