They're a small dark grey frog that I've never seen over 1". They seem to go well in community tanks but remember, they are frogs and as such will try to fit anything into their mouths. I'd put decent sized things in there, say over 1.5". The same applies to their own kind. I wouldn't put them together unless they're close to the same size. They're fairly fragile, so make sure the tank doesn't have anything that would nibble on them. They're totally aquatic, so they don't need access to land, newt style. At the LFS I work at they generally eat anything, sunken flake food, freeze dried tubifex worms, frozen bloodworms, each other. They're neat little guys.
