Alot of people use the "Southdown" play sand sold at Home Depot (from what I hear, Southdown has grown wise to the pet industry, and no longer sells to H.D as play sand), and almost all of us use aragonite(calcium carbonate) sands.....anywayz, today i was trippin through the lfs and saw some of their reptile sand called calci-sand or something like it, and was wondering why people dont try this sand. I read the bag, and it says contains only 100% calcium carbonate. Isnt this the same thing? what am I missing?? the one I am talking about is bright white and sugar fine, as they also have some with "non toxic" dyes added for different colors. As long as you use the one without any dyes or additives, what could be the harm from using it? Just a nagging question I would like your input on. Might be a helpful idea for newbies first setting up their tanks. Mogurnda, Id really like to hear your take on this! Thanx guys!
