In the interest of doing something different I've set up a freshwater tank of just invertebrates. (Yeah, I know it's a weird idea.) I've acquired some cherry shrimp that I hope will breed sooner or later (no luck yet that I've seen) and some snails have shown up in there unexpectedly (I assume they were hitchhikers on some live plants I bought). I was thinking of adding ghost shrimp, but I'm wondering if they'll cross breed with the cherry shrimp. I want to sell the cherry shrimp down the road if I can get them to breed b/c I've got an LFS that said they might give me store credit for them. Obviously, I don't want to introduce some sort of cross breed strain into the market. Does anyone know definitively if they'll cross-breed if in the same tank?

No, they will not cross breed. Different species. The ghost shrimp may consume the cherry shrimp fry, though. I probably wouldn't mix them if you really want to have success with the cherry shrimp fry, but you might want to get some feedback from someone with more experience with cherries.
