You'll need to do a better job of getting a species id--butterfly goby and wasp fish are common names that don't always refer to the same fish. There are a freshwater wasp fish, totally unrelated to the marine lionfish/stone fish/etc. There is also a brackish butterfly goby, which is related to the so-called FW lionfish, also unrelated to the marine species. However--all those little spines are in fact toxic, so handle with care.
They most likely are brackish. Many brackish fish live in FW as juveniles and then migrate to brackish waters as they mature. You'll want to get a firm species identification.
Are they eating well? What else is in with them?
