I was wondering if maybe instead of real leaves I could use those fake autum leave they sell at craft stores to scatter in my tank? Less messy and available all year.

Comments???

I don't know a thing about putting leaves in an aquarium, but it should be interesting to see what kind of feedback you get on this one. Aren't some leaves toxic to fish as they disintegrate?

They are probably made from polyester, nylon or rayon or something, which in and of itself should be fine as long as the dyes don't leech out. Buy a couple and soak them for a week and test the water. That should let you know.

I asked a question awhile back about using craft store silk plants in my tank and everyone said it wasn't a good idea. You don't know for usre that the dyes won't leach ou t and cause problems. It isn't labeled safe for fish then i wouldn't trust it.
