Hello everyone. I am new to this site so pls bear w/ me. I had purchased a mickey platty 1 week ago and its always lying behind a plant. Its too thin to be pregnant. Its acting very weird compared to the other fishes i have (behaviorwise). And now, the other platy i have (female) is also just sitting next to her behind the plant. Do you think theyre sick? Something must be wrong w/ them. But they do eat and they swim around sometimes. My next question is, do fish ever sleep?

The best thing to do is post your water readings. Then it will be easier to everyone to try and help you.

Hey no problem, Try raising your temp in the tank a few degrees, what do you have it at right now? Do you have agitation to your tank? Air bubbles? strong water movement? if not give that a try. So you have 3 platies and 2 mollies in the tank? Do your mollies pester them? How are they in the tank? How do the act when you feed them?

Live bearers are the one type of fish that I consistantly see in the fish store that are sick. Did you make sure you got a good one, or did you just have them net one. When I have gotten live bearers, I am very picky and only will accept specific fish.

Fish do sleep. They usually sleep at night when the lights are off. If you wake up early and look at your tank while it is still dark you will see all of the fish just kinda floating around not doing anything.
