So after a 4 month battle of buying piece by piece i think I'm almost ready to add water and start cycling my new 80g bow-front curved glass aquarium!! Woo-hoo!!!!!:bday:
So this is what I went with:
Jebo 80g curved glass bow front aquarium
Emperor wet/dry filter 22x12x16 w/ bio balls, ceramic rings, and carbon in media bag connected to overflow.
Life tech power filter (ap4550) 700g/h connected to Eheim spray bar
Jager 250w heater
(still need to buy an airpump, what would be the best to have a planted tank and keep enough o2??)
Lighting:
(2) 65w odyessea compact flourescent 12,000k (will switch these to 6,700k later)
(2)65w odyessea compact flourescent 6,700K
Substrate:
4 bags of Flourite

Glass needs to be cleaned, but what to you think???? I also have the tank against a mirrored wall in our dinning room, could be a great effect or could be a nightmare depending on algea.

you dont need an air pump.. jsut face the spray bar up if you want the o2, in fact if you have plants you dont need one at all

Looks awesome. What are you going to keep in it?
Moving over my Koi angel and 3 clown loaches... so this is what I'm shooting for:

5 or so Angels
10-15 diamond tetra
20 cardinal tetra
****maybe another school if I can fit it(what do people think, suggestions please??)
6 or 7 total clown loaches (add 3 or 4 after my 3 that I have, is this too many for the 80g)
2 german blue rams (a pair)
1 or 2 fancy plecos (not too shure yet)
Any suggestion welcome!!!
***I'm not too sure if I'm going to spend the money on CO2 yet, so plant suggestions as well please(stuff that the clowns won't eat esp..;)
:) :) :)

If you are going to plant, I would recommend some more flourite. I have about 6.5 bags od onyx sand in my 72g and I wish I had an extra bag sometimes. You always want the plants to have enough support. Also, you could try using black construction paper as a background. It will bring out the colors of everything in the tank more, but thats my opinion. Everything looks good otherwise, congrats on the tank. My favorite part of fishkeeping is setting up new tanks, so much potential. Good luck with everything and keep us updated.

thats a nice piece of driftwood u have in there where did u get it?...online??
I got it at my LFS. I paid a pretty penny for it, but the day I bought my tank I saw it and I had to have it. It actually has a hole in the base where fish can swim up though the wood's center, I think the fish will love it!! :D
Thanks for the compliment!!

You should rethink your number of clowns. 80g is not enough room for 6-7 clowns.

I have 7 in my 180, and have already started thinking about what size their next home will be.
