Is there an Ich treatment that wont stain everything, and that is safe for a pictus? I also have a pleco in the tank, so I am hesitant about salt. My pictus just has the very beginning sighns of ich. I think I also saw some on one of my silver dollars. It looks very early on, so hopefully I have caught it before it becomes a problem. Thank you!

Someone on this board recommended Aquari-sol for ich which I used and it worked within a week. No stains and safe on my plants. My tank included irridescent sharks, bala sharks, silver tip sharks, zamora cat, plecos, rainbow shark, minnows, tuffies and arowana. Didn't lose any fishes.

Aquari-Sol is a soluble copper treatment. Copper's toxicity (and its effe3ctiveness-- the two are connected) is pH-dependent.

In lightly buffered water copper may be freed if pH drops, suddenly poisoning fish one future day. In acidic soft weater like mine, copper can't be used at all. In alkaline water copper is widely recommended.

Quinine works too, and doesn't stain silicone.

Formaline works against ich and won't stain silicone. I'm not sure it's pictus friendly but I think it is.
