i currently have 4 black skirt tetras, 2 blue danios and a common pleco. i had got these to cycle my tank. i have talked to my lfs and they said it will ok if i return them all and they will give me a dollar credit for each fish. i want to get some bright colored fish that will stand out. what kind of fish do you suggested? i was thinking of maybe getting some female bettas and a male betta and like 3 ottos? any suggestions are appreciated.. thanks PS 10 gallon tank, cycled, filter, heater, light, bubble wall.... THANK YOU :bowing: :cool2:

I wouldn't suggest keeping male and female bettas in the same tank together. Bad things could happen! Usually, this is only done when one is attempting to breed the bettas, and it doesn't always go, uh, "swimmingly", as it were.
Be that as it may, a single male betta would be cool as a colourful centrepiece fish, as would a dwarf gourami. Or you could try a school of brightly coloured tetras (but no artificially dyed ones, please!). Or maybe fancy guppies or platies? They come in lots of different colours. There are plenty of possibilities! To narrow things down: Were you looking for one single bright fish to stand out amongst the crowd? Or are you open to having a whole bunch of Crayola-coloured fish swimming around in the tank like a big ol' jar of aquatic jellybeans?
