are the play sand from HD or pool sand as white as argonite?

I found the crushed coral to be darker. Is there anything whiter than argonite?

I do not want powder sand. Ocean sand size more or less.

The play sand I bought at HD is not white; it's a very pale off-white, but I use it as a substrate.

so did you have to treat the play sand you bought at home depot? and if so with what?

If by treat you mean rinse it until your fingers bleed? Yes :D
Pool Filter Sand costs a little more, is a little larger grained and is pre-rinsed. Keep in mind that white sand will show every single algae cell that colonizes it, and the poo will stick out like a sore thumb.
