On pesticides and aquariums……

Ok…. So here’s the issue; We have the pest people coming to spray the house for carpenter ants; Im running a largish (90gal) fresh tank with lots of inverts; what should I do? So far all I can think of is put a plastic sheet over the top and make a good airtight duck tape seal on it and hope for the best…
Anyone had their house sprayed? What did you do if anything?

wow im actually getting our house termite treatment too, but i have a 6G tank so no problem but id like to know what the proper procedure is,.

It depends on what they are doing.

Are they spraying around the edges or fogging the whole house? Or are they poking holes in the wall and spraying directly into the walls?

For the most part laying a sheet of plastic over the tank will sufice seeing as most pesticides are just going to settle on the top. But if they are doing the whole tent fogger deal. Then you will probably want to take tape and completely seal off your tank and then run a hose from your tank to your window. Like this

Kind of a rough sketch but I think you get the idea.
