Yesterday while going through some old things I came across my very first tank. An 4.5 gallon acrylic tank. Very simple. pretty much tank and light.

I have decided for memory sake to set it up at my computer desk. Although Im not sure what to put in it. It might be fun to use it as a breeding tank and just put like a breeding pair in it. I would like to stay away from livebearers. Any suggestions?

4.5gal doesn't give you much room to play with. For a tank that small, I would use it as a shrimp tank. If you really want a breeding pair of fish maybe some Scarlet Badis.

You could use it as a fry tank. As a breeding tank, it's gonna be hard to pull off.

use it as shrimp breeding tank

I say forget about breading and stick a nice looking betta in there. Less work and one of the most beautiful freshwater fish, and they have a cool personality.

I am for a betta,or shrimp.
I like the way bettas act, I got a crown tail about a month ago and he is in a 10 gal in with a few rasboras and he is very active and a kick in the A$$ to watch, chasing the rasboras around and stuff.

But shrimp can be fun to breed, I have never done it but I know a few people who have.
