I have 3 corys that I purchased on Monday. Two are REALLY fat!!! Behind the face/gill is a HUGE lump! The other one has a flat stomach. Is this normal? They seem energetic! The one without the lump is the most inactive. What can this be?

EDIT: They are all about this long -.................- :)

they could be carrying eggs

yep..all the same size. It's like a big bulge right behind their gills on their stomach. flat everywhere else. I thought maybe it was just the design of the cory until I saw the other one.

Could be a few things.

In my case, they're just fatties =p

lol. ok! I was just worried that something was wrong! :D

also my zebra danio is FAT, but is pretty small otherwise..seems to get fatter after it eats..maybe he just has an eating problem? LOL :)

Funny you say that about the Danios too.

I have both corys and danios, seems to me that those 2 species like to show off the bellys.

lol! That is funny! Well, the corys have lost their belly!! :O!!!!! I was gone for a few hours and when I got back they were gone..hmm..looked for eggs but none were found. oh well! :)
