Filstar xp1 Vs. Fluval 204

for any of you with experience with these 2, im wondering which would be a better pick. both cost the same in the LFS.

o yea, whats the gph for the XP1? some sites say 250, others say 165. thanks..

I have no experience with the Filstar, but I have read good things about them on this board.

I recently got a Fluval 404 for my 55 gallon, and liked it so much that the very same day I ordered a Fluval 204 for my 29 gallon.
I just set it up last night, it is every bit as functional and quiet as the 404.

It was only $55 (for the 204) from Big Als online.

The filstar XP1 pumps 250 gph as opposed to the 180 of the Fluval 204. You will find many people here that like both brands. Sometime in the future, I plan to get an XP 1 for my U.V. I have heard more good things about it then a fluval. You will also get almost the same power from the XP 1 as a fluval 304 for way less.

I read many good things about the XP1 on this board, so I ordered one this morning for my 29g tank. I was already running an AC200 and a Penguin 125 on the tank, but since I am planting the tank I decided to replace both of those with the XP1...I'm sure I won't regret the decision....
