Hey Everyone!

I really like the pictus catfish and would like to add one to my tank, but before I do, I was wandering if anyone has an adult pictus cat and would be kind enough to post some pictures of it. I just want to see what they look like when they reach adulthood. I have read that they can get anywhere from 6 inches to over 10 inches.

Thanks for your time if you decide to post your pics!

Pictus cats don't get larger than 5 inches. I've had a close relative, Pimelodus blochii, get to about 10 inches. Actually, I've posted on here before about pictus cats getting large, but I had my species confused because I bought my blochii as pictus. Anyway, adult pictus cats look pretty much like the ones in the store, except they get a bit chunkier. Overfeeding will make them too fat, but usually they're only a bit thicker as adults.

Pictures are hard to get, they move too fast.
I will say that adult pictus look pretty much the same as juveniles. They do not change much. And I'll also agree that a 6" pictus is rare. 4-5 inch is more the norm.
