Suggestions - Filter for Planted Nano

Hi!
I am starting up a 3-gallon planted nano. I need to purchase a filter for it, and I am looking for suggestions as this is the first time I have purchased a filter separately (and its been awhile since I have kept a tank). The tank is roughly 11" tall, 10.5" wide and 4" deep. I plan on keeping a few shrimp, and it will be fairly heavily planted. Let me know if anymore info is necessary.

I've seen some little 3 gallon filters made by 'Red Sea' at Big Al's & online. They're the hang-on type, about $12 or so.

If you use a hang-on filter such as this, a little sponge or piece of nylon over the output can help to reduce high water agitation, so that your planted tank doesn't lose a lot of CO2 in the water (which it needs).

You can buy a small internal filter (hagen elite mini) for a 3 gallon tank, although they do take up quite a bit of space.

I've got a 3 gallon planted tank with a few endlers in it, and I don't even use a filter, because the plants use up all the ammonia.
