My stepdad caught this fish in the keys, I've got him it my quarantine and he's doing great, does anyone know if hes good to keep or not? I'm guessing he's a regular old grey trigger, but hes got these blue hints of color on his face, very subtle. And hes got a yellow tail with a little spot of white, kind of like the bone of a surgeonfish near the tail, hes only about 2.5 inches longhttp://img364.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10006286hp.jpg
Please respond, thanks!!! - Alex

Hes not gonna do so great in that 20, plus the clown will be in for a beating and the shrimp may be a snack

well do you know what kind of fish he is!?!!?

[For future posters...]
I know the temperment of triggers, I know he can't stay in this tank, I know they get big, I know they have powerful jaws, I know he'll eventually eat my shrimp, I keep a tight eye on him. I made this post for the only reason that I want to IDENTIFY him. Help me figure out what kind of fish he is, but don't tell me he can't stay in the tank.(I have gone through this before on a different post where people just kept telling me my fish would not go together. It sucks)

The problem i'm having with identification is that triggers have juve and adult colours so its difficult to tell have a look on fishindex.org

I could prob help you identify a larger tank though! ;-)

fish index, thanks!!! I found that he is not a trigger but most likely a filefish, I found the family, not sure on the fish till he gets bigger.

People in this forum are here largely to help others with taking care of livestock. When someone posts about a situation that will ultimately be trouble, they feel obligated to point it out. If you know the fish won't work in your tank, where is it going to go.

It's some species of filefish. I'd key it out further, but it may be a juvenile, and the color on the photo is poor.

its more of people have to be jerks on this sight and every one feels that they are smarter than anyone else.

BTW, alex, does your dad have a permit to catch these things? You can't just go out and catch them.
