For those of you with wet/dry trickle filiters, what's your experience been injecting CO2? I've searched and read almost every thread on this subject and some seem to be able to get away with it so I was just wondering what your thoughts were on my dilemma.
I have a brand new 113g tank that I want to set up as a planted tank. Maybe not a fully landscaped enviroment but enough to give my fish a sense of security and provide somewhat of a natural looking habitat. Somewhere along these lines (http://www.winternet.com/~mchristi/fish/planted/original/front_larger.jpg). I plan on buying lights from AH Supply and running a pressurized CO2 system. I already have one Eheim 2217, a Marineland Magnum 350 Pro (came with Bio-Wheels) and a Pro Clear Aquatics 175 Wet Dry Filter w/600 gph pump. I bought all of these filters prior to wanting a planted tank. So my dilemma is do I get rid of the wet/dry and buy another canister (maybe an Eheim 2028)? I've read the article titled "Aquatic Concepts: CO2 Injection" and understand it is possible to have both systems. I also understand the problem with the waterfall effect in the overflow box and how it can be mitigated. But I guess I want to hear from those who run this type of setup. Should I save my self a headache and just get another canister? Or is it a feasible project? Any advice or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated. Also, I don't plan on adding fish until I have my planted tank parameters down (injetion and dosing). But when I do I'm leaning toward a rainbow focused tank.
Thanks.
