Hi, I got 3 new corydoras today. Upon the trip home i found that one of them was alot smaller than the other two, with more dark spots. But, this one seems extremely thin along the whole body, with head being normal size. Is this some disease or maybe just because its smaller and fry are born with larger heads than bodies?
Another, the barbels are worn down to small nubs, willl they grow back? I have smooth small gravel that my 2 corydoras in there currently do fine in and have nice barbels.

What species are they? If they're peppered or green cories, they're probably captive bred. Most other species are wild-caught, which often means they're carrying parasites. If they're very young (1" or less), I'd say it might be just juvenile awkwardness.

Yes. It may take a month or two.

hey everyone i'm new to all this my husband got me my tank for chirstmas 2yrs ago and him and i have enjoyed setting it up and learning about things i'm not sure what kind of plecos i have, but would like to. we have a 55 gal tank, it has irradesent sharks, angle, 2 silver type fish, an eel and some bottom feeders. we have spent alot of time finding things that work and things that don't. we can only seem to keep a pleco for about 6 weeks, and then we find them floating, any comments would help. :dive: :help:

You probably want to start your own post. No one is going to come into this Julii Cory thread to find your message at the end of it.
