I read in order for Kribs to mate they need to eat live foods? is this true?

false by my accounts. the only thing that seems to be dictating my kribs breeding right now, is how hard it is to successfully defend their territory.

I think it stimulates them more, but I agree with Jiggerpolebill, not neccesary.

voodoocichlid i think ur right it just stimulates their breeding habits, water changes also do this, but i have seen them breed without live foods.

Isn't necessary though if they're used to eating non-live foods, a 'sudden' introduction of live foods will stimulate them, just as water changes or a change in their surroundings can do.

I had them breed while feeding them "NEw Life Spectrum Small Fish Formula" with no other suppliments, except the algea they eat off the plants. They haven't bred recently, but I have 2 paradise fish in there now, and 2 otos, and also a 2" CAE.
