Hey there! Can anyone help ID this stuff??
I originally thought it was Staghorn, but im having second doubts… Im having one heck of a time keeping it under control, Removing it with a vac every weekend is getting tedious…
It is in a high light tank with pressurized CO2, and I am dosing with a daily EI regime… I also have a lot of SAE any ideas??

First of all, if possible you need to re-size your uploads. Those pictures are huge and very difficult to deal with. In the future please re-size smaller.

The algae in question is a thread algae, usually caused by high light and/or an over abundance of certain nutrients. Too much Fe is a big offender and found often to be the cause of this algae, but I wouldn't rule out others either.

Ok, hope that sizing is a bit better… Sorry about that guys!

-Really Quartermain! Angels will eat it up!! That is VERRY good news… (PS) is WAS prettier, but I did teardown a few weeks ago to try and kill this stuff off; but to no avail; IE Bleach dip of all the plants etc… so I ended up with 2 days of damaged looking plants, then TADA this stuff is back again;

PS someone on APC (another forum) had suggested it was Cladophora; is that the same thing as Thread algae?

Hey, that looks familar :)

I have lots of that in different tanks as well. I'm not dosing iron anymore and there's none in my tap anymore (according to the water report) so that may not be where it's getting the nutrients from. There could be iron getting picked up between the treatment plant and my house, however.

Regardless, I did up my nitrate levels and the stuff has been slowly abating from my CO2 injected tanks. Only in the 10g that has low light, no CO2 and I don't bother dosing (spawning tank, rather have algae in there) is there a lot of that.
