hi guys ive got aclown loach thats chasing and nipping other fish any ideas why?

clowns do best when kept in groups of at least 5 individuals. keeping only one elicits the abnormal behaviour you're seeing.

i bought them as a pair the other one seems ok would a cure be found if i brought some more? thanks

Depends on how big your tank is. Minimum tank size for clown loaches is 75g.
They do best, IME, in a school. However, are they doing this all the time or only during feeding time?
If they are doing it only during feed time, watch them carefully and you'll see why they are doing it.
I believe they have horrid eyesight. I've seen flakes fall right past them and they'll miss it, but a tail near their faces and they'll chase until they realize it's not a food.
They are not terrorizing your fish if they don't do it any other time.
