I have had two cory cats (peppered and aneous) in my tank and just added a new albino aneous yesterday. The two aneous cories swim together and last night and this morning all they did was swim the length of the tank (20L) along the glass back and forth, back and forth. It was really very annoying. They stopped for a few seconds when I fed the other fish and their gills were going crazy and then they started back up again. There appears to be nothing wrong with them healthwise. What's interesting is that the original aneous that spent his time skimming the bottom with the peppered cory is now spending his time swimming crazy with the new one.

Any one have any thoughts if this is normal or will it pass?
Thanks!

Sounds like they are very stressed. Try and work out the reason. The albino aneous?

Yeah, I will keep an eye on them and see if the albino cory slows down. (The albino cory is an albino version of the aeneous- peach/pink color with pink eyes)

Sounds like typical cory behavior to me. Cories are kind of like the border collies of the fish world — when they get excited, they have to run. Adding new cories to a tank causes them much excitement. I would expect them to settle down after a while, maybe 5-10 days. Sometimes mine still get excited, and I've got 17 in my tank. I'll sometimes see a dozen cories swimming in circles right at the front glass for half an hour straight, and then they'll get tired and dogpile in the back behind the plants.

Does not sound like too outrageous of behavior. I hade a tank with 10 or so pygmy cories and they loved to play around they would jet around all the time. They loved going up for gulps of air, I found thier personality very amusing.

Thats a cory for ya.

They'll do it less often as time goes by, but they will always do it. All of my cory's are in perfect health and display that behavior quiet often.

Sounds like my little cories are fine. I just think it is interesting the peppered cory doesn't join the two aeneous cories. Funny how they know their own "kind" despite them all being cories. Ha. I'll see if they slow down over the next week and keep an eye on them to see if they are sick at all.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Once they settle in, they'll learn to like each others' company. My group is a mix of 5 different species, and they all get along great.
