I know there is a name for this condition but I have forgotten what it is. One danio stays at the top of the tank like he is constantly feeding. He looks bloated and uncomfortable. Just when I think he must be dead he moves. I just took down and cleaned my 10g and put the filter and plants in my 75g. Should I set up the 10g again and put this one fish in it? I am leaving for a week in a few days so I won't be here to watch it. I have a nonfish person committed to feeding the fish in the 75g while I'm gone but she probably won't be interested in nursing one fish. I seem to remember reading something about not feeding a bloated fish for a few days as the cure. I was not surprised to see this fish bloat up as it has been overeating for days.

75g: plants, three small (3") clown loaches, 7 danios, 7 neons, 5 black skirt tetras.
1/2 water change done on 5/27. Used Prime as conditioner.

Ammonia: 0
Nitrate:20
Nitrite: 0
ph: 7.2
temp:80 (increase from usual 77 -no a/c in this house-it's 95 out side!)

Well, if you have another tank you could put it in there and try the salt treatment or you could starve it and then give it a pea to eat. Those are the two treatments I'm aware of for a bloated fish. It could be constipated.
