I have active shoal of 8 Harlequin Rasboras. Their only tankmate is a Rainbow Shark. Is there a Gourami or other fish that will be happy in my current community setting. Don't bother asking me the size of the tank. I just want to know what fish would be happy with the fish I currently have. I was looking at Opaline Gouramis, Paradise Fish, Even a male Betta.

that's a pretty silly statement actually. the size of your tank is VERY important to the answer one might give you. for example, if you have a ten gallon tank an oscar might be perfectly compatible but not fit in the tank.

do some research yourself if your not comfortable sharing your tank size...

were not gonna help you stunt more fish,if thats why your not telling us your tank size, or suggest a fish for an unkown tank size. this could have been A LOT easier if you would just say how big your tank is. in your first post.

No way I would recommend tank mates without knowing the tank size.....and with a question like was posed in the manner you did,you better add in....

How long you have kept fish...
Current tank parameters, exact readings, not "their fine"..
Maintenance routine...
How old is the current set up....

I think it is obvious whether or not I should get an Oscar for a tankmate to Harlequin Rasboras. The thing would eat them all before I could even blink. So since your stuck on tank size and not thinking about the fact that the Harlequins only grow to be about 1.75 inches, the tank is a standard 20 Gallon. I know that certain fishes will get too big for this tank and the Rainbow Shark is one that will get too big. I didn't want to post a tank size becaus I am considering the fact that I will need a larger one in the future. So I have a 20 Gallon with 8 Harlequin Rasboras and a Rainbow Shark. Knowing these things and what I said earlier, what are some suggestions you guys can give me? Thanks.

add 12 more harlequins or if you can get espeis, i like them better because of the orange body

20 total isn't going to overstalk the tank?

I'd stick to the 1 inch/gallon guideline - but it IS a guideline and subject to conditions. 20 more rasboras and you'll probably need to increase filtration and how often you do water changes.

I came across some rainbow fish today which has some nice colors, friendly community fish... and they stay relatively small 4 inches? Any special characteristics you're looking for?
