Whats killing my fish?

Ok, Yesterday, one of my cories was found dead, right outside my RTBS` "house". The cory was bleeding. and died :( , And this morning, i found my tetra dead, inside the RTBS "house".
Is my RTBS killing my fish?, well, just incase he wasnt, i did a 15% water change, and cleaned out the filter. Boy that filter needed to be cleaned,,yuck.
Mabey he was starving i thought, and i put some food right infront of his "house". And, hes becoming quite Picky about who is around his house. So, Where these fish intuding and he killed them, and hes maturing, OR did he not kill these fish at all? Casue my tera, was, a pice of white , torn flesh.:o

RTBS can be aggressive, but usually that involves chasing fish away from their territory, not killing them and bringing the corpse home.

If your filter was really dirty, I'd test for ammonia and nitrites, and try bringing those down to zero if they aren't already. Cories tend to be sensitive to nitrites, IME. Once dead, any fish is fair game for scavenging, and most fish will nibble.

i agree with oriongirl..i wouldnt bet against it being a problem with the water, and the RTBS just feasting on the dead fish. they're not a killer...and certainly wouldnt be able to kill an armoured catfish such as your cories.
