Do you immerse your pH controller?

I just set up the CO2 system with the Milwaulkee pH controller. The directions say to only put it in the water 1 inch, which means that it will be sticking out of the tank. It looks to be completely sealed.

Does anyone else use this and if so, how low in the water do you put it?

I am trying to rig something with a cable tie and suction cup to hold it up in the water, but if everyone else just lets it fully immerse, maybe I will too.

If it is same yellow probe as mine, it is designed to be fully immersed. I lay in along side my filter intake pipe, using the aquarium top to kind of hold it in place. Been there for about six months and works fine. About every two months I notice significant difference between measured PH and Milwaukee display. Clean the probe (solution provided by manufacturer), recalibrate it (standard solution provided by manufacturer) and and its good for another couple months.
