Platy color

I recently bought 3 platys (2 female and a male) and over the last week I have noticed a very significant color change. I know that healthy fish are generally brighter, but there are completely new markings! Is this normal?

What kinds of markings did they develop? One of my male platys (yellow v-tail), as he grew, developed a reddish hue on his dorsal fin and some dark markings around his upper lip... very pretty!

One Female that was originally yellow developed black specks and a bluish-green spot. The other had a black stripe that has gotten wider. The male has not changed that much, but is a much brighter orange.

nothing to worry about you just have juvenille fish that aren't done developing thier adult coloring

Is the bluish-green spot on her belly, by chance?

no blue-green spot, but there is an orange spot...any significance?

A roundish or oval spot on both sides of the belly is an indicator of gravidity.
