hey guys let me know if this sounds like a steal or not:

75 gallon tank comes with pine stand and glass canopy w/ stock light (i would replace the crappy stock light for a planted tank). All brand new asking 350 or BO. (maybe i can talk him down to 300).

Not sure when ill be able to actually set it up.. may not be for another year or so but should i act on it? I currently have a 29 in my apt and I really would love a 75 gallon community tank.

i'd offer 300 too, but 350 is still pretty good

I agree with DC; it sounds like a great deal, esp. with stand (as long as it's sturdy). Try 300.00!

make sure the seals are all good. I bought a 55 sight un seen over the phone because i was in bad need for one. The seals are not the greatest but 1 year later they are still holding

yea im asking him about the stand... is pine a good wood for a stand? im also risking haveing this on the second floor of my apt and am worried about the weight of it all, but it will be touching 2 walls so i think that will help.
Thanks for thr replies!

pine's strong, but watch out moving it, it dents and gouges easily

i think it all depends on where you live. i got my 100 gal custom tank and stand. it has 4 power plug in's in each of the 3 cupboards for only $200. i was 10 mins to late of picking up another 100 gal tank with lights rocks stand for $100 last week. yes its a lot better then going to the store and getting a new one but might not be the best deal. i see 100 gal tanks for $200 all the time around me.

wow, you got hooked up! the thing also is under full warranty which is also enticing, an owner of a fish store is selling it.

what do you get with the full warranty? how long is it? i have had 10 or so tanks over the last few years. i only had prob with one with a little leak that some silicon fixed up right away. i dont know how other people think but if it holds water when you get it then it will prob be fine. you could also go over the seals and make sure they are good. i alway test mine outside first for a few days just to be sure.

I think it does depend on where you are. Call around to your local shops. One local place is selling selling a similar set NEW for $350. Protecto 75 gallon tanks for $110, protecto oak stand $175 and a light strip/glass at $65 .

And to think I chose to pay $360 for the nicer stand w/canopy and the 60 gallon? I could have had 75 for LESS. Am I NUTS!!??? Actually, no that was a negotiation with the wife. This was the nicer stand(Sedona series), which looks more like nice furniture. The stand alone would ahve been $430 for the 75.
