Im getting a tank its like 30 gallon somthing im not really sure. i'm going to have a emp 400 for it and already have a skimmer it's a coralife super skimmer rated up to like 60 gallons....what im wondering is can i feed it bacteria from a established freshwater tank to help get the cycle going...becuse i have a 125 tank with 2 emp 400's on it and a 20 gallon with a emp 280 on it...figure i could steal the filter pad out of it so im not waiting years to get this thing cycled

I was going to go with a larger setup but im getting a good deal on this tank so i thought id start small and learn being this is the first sw tank for me

Nope freshwater bacteria will die in saltwater.

Ahh' well looks like im just gonna have to cram some live rock in their ..maybe some live sand to kick that up that cycle

Don't try to rush the cycle. Let it happen. Add live rock and live sand and it should cycle on it's own.

Nothing good in SW happens fast only bad things happen fast and crash your tank. First lesson in SW, take everything slow and don't try to hurry the process.
