So after the disease is gone from the tank(waiting a few weeks) I will add t he fish from my quarantine tank into the 29 gallon tank. That includes 2 zebra danios, 3 corys, 2 glowlight tetras.
I will have 6 zebra danios in all.
So I was thinking to add a flame dwarf gouarmi, and add to glowlight tetras. Maybe having 5-7 in all. What do you think? Could I add any more fish in there? with 5-7 glowlight tetras, 3 corys, 1 dwarf goourami, and 6 zebra danios?
I decided against the angelfish. I also saw a blue ram there but I read that they must have perfect water, so it is out also.
What do you think of my new plan?
Good plan. Definitely you could add more. Get a pair of dwarf gouramis (male and female - 2 males will fight). also go for 7 rather than 5 tetras - they are always at their best in numbers and add very little to the bioload unless you have about 5 in any case. I would also get some more cories, but its probably not esential if you already have 3. Even with that, as long as you have efficient filtration and keep up with water changes, you could add considerably more fish. If you do, get plenty of plants as they will relieve the bioload, and make sure the fish are spread across the tank levels (ie don't get just bottom level or midwater fish).
If you do want cichlids other than blue rams, consider Bolivian rams or apistos, or even kribs (watch them with cories though - I have a pair in a 24x12 tank, which hounded my one of my sterba cories and killed it. However, the other one isn't bothered by them, and neither are my 3 peppered cories.). You could maybe add a pair of firemouths, but I don't know how aggressive they are.

OK! I clean out my tank once a week about 30% or so. I also have several live plants! :) I was thinking about 4 platies or 3 swordtails. Would those be alright? one or the other :)

If you get platys or swordtails, get only males unless you like the idea of your tank being infested with them.

I plan to get 2 females 1 male. I've never had a problem before(I've kept platys), and if they do, then my gourami should take care of most :)
the danios will also eat any fry - they ate all my guppy fry I think. You can easily add the platies or swordtails.

H ow big are the danios and what kind are they? Some danios can grow quite large. As far as the other fish are concerned you should be fine but keep in mind the more fish you have the more frequent your water changes have to happen. I believe in understocking a tank so in case of somthing going awry such as a power failure than the fish have more oxygen because of the low bio-load. Also please do not put a firemouth in with that group of fish. He is a south american cichlid and can be aggressive. I have a firemouth in my 125 south american cichlid tank and he lives with 5 other south american cichlids. Even though he's the smallest in the group of fish (and there are only six in total) he can be quite feisty when holding his own. He is a cichlid and there are aggression issues to deal with when dealing with any cichlid. That is just thier nature to be that way. It has been my experience that in all these years keeping cichlids that it is best to keep cichlids with cichlids and other fish with other fish.

Your danio's aren't big now, but unless you plan on removing fish from your tank as you go or are already in the works of getting a larger tank, plan for the ADULT size of your fish so you don't have heartache's down the road.
I absolutely agree on keeping a tank a little understocked. It's better for the fish and makes for less stressful maintanance demands. Besides, adding fish is half the fun in fishkeeping. If you add them all right at the beginning, you don't leave yourself room to play. :)

The gourami will be just fine for population control. Go ahead and get the swordtails. I would never suggest getting all male swortails as the dominant male will bother the others nonstop. 1 male and 2 females is a good plan.
