Red Eye Tetra

Ok I just recently did a water change on my 10 gallon tank just a couple of hours ago.. And I just went in my room and my red eye tetra was laying between my plants so i thought it was stuck.. so i moved my plants.. and it swam up to the top.. and it turned around and THE OTHER EYE IS GONE!! It only has 1 eye.. Does anyone know why?? Is it going to live?? Please help me!!!!!

some1 mustve popped it.. poor guy...

maybe it was lethargic enough to begin with and one of the tankmates bit it off? :look:

Sometimes if the fish appears to be dying than the other fish will pick on it and even try to start eating it before it is actually dead. I would move the fish to a quarentine tank ASAP before any other fish attacks it and it can try to recover without being hasseled.

just thought i would let you know that the red eye died lastnight... it just layed in one of the fake plants and died there... it did live a while though for only having one eye...

sorry to hear it. Im afraid that when a fish starts to die and the other fish realise this, they will go straight to the eyes. This can happen before or after it is dead however.
