Right now I have a planted 3g Eclipse with a betta and an oto. Things are just fine now, but I enjoy watching the 5 cories I have in my 37, so I'm thinking of upgrading my 3g to something that could house the betta, oto and a pair of pandas (since they're neat to watch and they stay small). My research shows they can be kept in 5g tanks, but the number of fish is not specified. Any suggestions?

I would think 5-6 if the tank is planted. Depends on the dimensions of the tank, especially the base.

A 5 gallon tank will hold a betta, an oto, and three pandas no problem. I am assuming, of course, efficient filtration and regular water changes.

Hi there,

I'm also looking at getting some panda or similar small corys. I have a 65 litre tank (which I think is approx 17 gal?). I have 7 tetras in there at the moment. How many corys would I be able to put in. I'm not sure of the dimensions of the tank yet, but its rounded at the front

I'd be OK with a half dozen pandas in there.

Cool. I'll be setting up a 5g corner Eclipse at my desk at work. I'll add two pandas to the mix. Maybe it's time to try a DP in my 3g. :)
