I think that I know the answer, but I am gonna ask anyway. Does my tank have room for a couple of Panda Cories? (see signature) Right now everyone is doing great, but I really wish that my Julii cories would come out from under their little fake plant. I have even tried the freeze-dried bloodworms, but the Cories ignore them and the Swordtails scarf them down (bullies!). I was hoping that I could add 2 more small cories (i.e. Pandas) that would increase the cory shoal to 5 and perhaps induce them to have more confidence to come out and play.

If you know the answer …

Have you tried frozen bloodworms? Freeze-dried float, but frozen sink. Shrimp pellets are my cories' favorite, though.

If you want to beef up the cory herd, get more of the same. Corys find their food by feel, so if you are worried they are not getting their share, feed for them right after lights out.

Thanks!

I have also tried the frozen bloodworms. I have broken off a piece and then kinda wedged it under the rock right next to the Cories. They pretty much ignore the frozen ones as well. However, the swordtails love the frozen ones too. But... I will try the after dark idea, maybe the swordtails will not pay as much attention and the cories my actually notice the bloodworms.

I will just wait till I get a bigger tank and then I will increase my Cory shoal then. I certainly don't want to do anything that will harm my fish.
