Hi guys,
Well this is probably a dumb question but one of my female Balloon Molly's has one completely black eye (no she didn't get in a boxing fight ;) Just wondering if this is just her pigmentation (she's all orange) or something else. Thanks, you are great!

Hey there, I don't have an answer to your question, but am curious as to why you call your silver tips terrors??

Is it just her eye? not any of the flesh around it?
Most likely it is just pigment.

Yeah its just the eye itself, just looks unusual. I call the silvertips terrors because they are crazy and chase each other and try to chase the Molly's but the Male Molly is the boss so they continue chasing each other. Oh and they killed my ghost shrimp.

Try to startle her when she has only the black-eyed side facing you. If she can see out of the eye, it's just pigment and no worries. If she cant,

Your silvertips are terrors because they want to be in a larger shoal. Some fish get nippy when their numbers are small.

16 gallon- Eheim Canaster 2213 pushes 108 gallons per hour plus an under gravel with a 201 power head Aquaclear ( 201 G's per hour
-2 mollies
-13 tetras = 4 neons, 2 skirts, 2 red blacks, 2 blue blacks, 3 glow lights.
-6 zeebra danios
-1 algae eater- small 3 incher will get no bigger than 3.5
-1 gourmais i forget what he's called (max size 4)
-3 swords
I have no problems with ammo, nitrite and nitrate levels at 0 on all I'm feeding these guys small amounts about 3 times daily. They all seem to be eating and swimming arround peace fully. Oh and no foggy water chrystle clear.
My question is if all these water conditions are in these excellent conditions given it's population in a 16 gallon tank as some people would say overstocked.
Must I do water changes ?????????
Thank you for any advice you may give me.

I had more silvertips at one point but the meaner ones killed 4 of them! They aren't too bad now but they did have a nice shrimp feast.
