Ok I have a 30 gallon tall tank that's empty. It has been running for about a year now. I did have goldfish in it but now the goldfish are in my pond outside. I wanted to see if anyone could suggest what kind of fish would do well in my tank? I don't know if I want community fish or not. I definately want so different fish than the usually platies, and mollies.
How hard is it to take care of angelfish? All I need to do is get a heater for it and it should be good to go. Right now all I have in there is a few snails. I wiped the algae in the tank after I took a picture lol. So it looks nicer than the picture. Oh and i will be testing the water before I put any fish in it.
Here is a picture of my 30 gallon tall tank.

I have a good community fish tank, not like mollys, I have been impressed with Red-Eye Tetras, I got a group of 6 of them and look like a good addition to my tank and had them for about 6 months now... I work at a Petco and come across alot of fish and they are overlooked by most people I've noticed

angelfish sold in todays market have been tank raised for generations..domestic angels are not as finiky as the wilds and can adapt to most situations pretty well..as long as you have a descent water source you should be okay..the tank temp should hover in the 80's.
in a tank that size you could do with a pair of angels. pair of rams or other dwarf and a few dither fish or skip the rams/dwarves and go for a bn and a school of dithers(large tetras or hatchets)
I do not suggest otos with angels ..
get a good heater and thermometer.

Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone.
Hey solayedbacc you work at petco? I work at a petco too.
I don't usually meet other people online that work at a petco.
I've seen the red eyed tetras and the bleeding heart tetras and they both look nice.
Star_rider what size of angel do you recommend getting? I plan on doing research :read: before I decide on what exactly I'm going to get but I do like angelfish.

Looks like a tall 30 gallon tank. Angels should be fine in your tank but just a small group of them. Angels are fairly hardy and would be a good fish to go with. Check out the site in my signature and look at some of the info on Angels.
