I watched a shooting star fall throw some clouds once. It was at night and a new moon was out so there wasn't much light. And I was just driving along and happened to look up. The sky had a very light overcast and I saw a faint glow above the clouds. And just about instantly a shooting start shot strait thru the clouds. It is hard to describe, but when it passed thru the clouds it pushed them away and made a perfect circle that was much bigger than itself.
Had that been real, and had the meteorite been even the size of a bar-fridge, the truck, people, etc would be very gone....but there would have been one hell of a crater left behind.
